ETFO Awards Deadline

April 30, 2008

Please contact your local president for an application form. Additional information can be found in the 2007-2008 ETFO Reference Book.

Please note the deadline for the following awards:

Aboriginal Women in Education – Women’s Program

ETFO offers this bursary annually to Aboriginal women who are entering a faculty of education or ETFO Aboriginal women members who are taking a qualification upgrading course. Up to four bursaries of up to $2,500 and a certificate of recognition may be granted.

Bev Saskoley Anti-Racist Scholarship

This scholarship may be offered to an active ETFO member pursuing studies at the graduate level in the area of anti-racist equity education. One award of $2,500 and a certificate of recognition may be granted.

Children’s Literature

This award may be presented to an individual who is not a member of ETFO who writes children’s literature. The recipient will receive a certificate as well as the rights to use a decal indicating that the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario has honoured the book.

Doctoral Scholarship

This scholarship may be offered to an active ETFO member to pursue doctoral studies in education at any recognized university. One award of $6,500 and a certificate of recognition may be granted.

Doctoral Scholarship – Women’s Program

This scholarship may be offered to an active ETFO women member to pursue doctoral studies in education at any recognized university. One award of $6,500 and a certificate of recognition may be granted.

Educational Support/Professional Support Person Bursary

This bursary may be offered annually to an active ETFO Educational Support/Professional Support Person who is taking a professional upgrading course or other university course. One bursary of $1,000 and a certificate of recognition may be granted.

 

Bursaries (for sons and daughters of ETFO members)

ETFO offers up to ten bursaries annually to a son or daughter of an active ETFO member entering a faculty of education. Up to five bursaries of $500.00 and a certificate of recognition may be granted.

Women’s Studies Scholarship

This scholarship may be offered to active ETFO members for graduate work in women’s studies at a Canadian university. Up to two scholarships of $2,500 and a certificate of recognition may be granted.
